on method: Our teaching Application
It is essential sometimes to go into retreat, to stop everything that you have been doing, to stop your experiences completely and look at them anew, not keep on repeating them like machines.
You would then let fresh air into your mind. Wouldn’t you?
— Krishnamurti
Teaching yoga is an intimate process of unfolding, unhinging, ungripping in order to wake up into a wider more capacitated system which can hold space for practitioners in all the phases of their lives.
Each program we offer is in invitation for inner work to take time away from the mundane and normative, to peel away distractions and train the heart instead. Building upon inner ritual, we enrich the connection to the inner world on retreat, so that facilitators have a direct contact with their powerful vital center wherever they go. Yoga practitioners and meditation teachers have a previous privilege to live our practice. To make our lives a living practice.
We apply foundational methods of Yin Yoga principles, Restorative Yoga practices, and cornerstones of Buddhist regimen to cultivate a stable centerpoint for each facilitator to find their own unique impactful offering. Each facilitator becomes more effective in their domain, more transformative in their potential, and more inspired in their own path of awakening.
At Durga Excursions, we are committed to providing groundbreaking and anciently informed procedures for training the bodymind and encouraging integrated comprehensive Yin Yoga practices. Facilitators will be trained in a variety of tools and techniques so that their own classes are rooted in a solid foundation of knowledge and understanding. This includes correct alignment, muscular engagement, physiological understanding, psychological contemplations, anatomical competence, and breath awareness.
Of particular interest is that practitioners carve out their own dedication and discipline structures so their daily home practice continuously nourishes the creative unfolding in their teaching life.
