Samadhi Sacred Valley, Peru
50 HR Yoga Alliance
This Yin & Restorative Yoga Teacher Training will focus on hands-on, anatomical, structural, and energetic based practices for restoration of the body mind. Blending Buddhist Concepts with the Eight Limbs of Yoga, the potent portal of the Sacred Valley will serve as our home for the week.
A specific focus on Pratyahara - the Great Withdrawal - will be encouraged by drawing the boundaries around retreat life to train in the principles of stillness, spaciousness, and quietude. Disconnecting from normative social contexts and devices is recommended during our time together to allow the nervous system to enter the deep folds of rich restoration.
We will touch on the realms of resetting the nervous system, healing from past traumas, dissolving tensions, increasing musculoskeletal resiliency, strengthening joint stability, and cultivating elasticity in the body mind. We use embodied and informed anatomy and alignment, scientific bases for sequencing, and psychological self inquiry grounded in Buddhist practices.
Our work together as Sangha, spiritual community, will be within the domain of Yin Yoga and will contribute to your continuing education as a Yoga practitioner, inquisitor, and/or facilitator.
Each day will co-mingle a balance of Yang/Vinyasa Flow and Yin/Restorative practices for your own embodied experience, as well as extensive teaching practicums to find your authentic voice as a space holder and mindful movement facilitator.
Noble Silence & Our Daily Ritual Each day will begin with a Noble Silence practice, where we will integrate Vipasana style meditation, Yang Vinyasa, Iyengar, and Pranayama to awaken and enrich inner life. We will remain in silence through breakfast, after which we will break silence with learning modules crafted to deepen your own relationship to Yoga & Chakra Theory, Asana & Alignment, Buddhist + 8 Limb Yoga Philosophy, Meridians, Sequencing & Adjustments, and more. After lunch we will dive into each of the 5 Elements, and embody the practice through guided Yin sequencing of each element. Cooking classes, Yoga Nidras, Restorative Practices, and Teaching Practicums will be segmented throughout the evenings.
This Yin Intensive training is a potent addition to integrate components of Yin and Restorative Yoga into your own daily practice and into the yoga studios. We encourage seasoned yoga facilitators as well as emerging and brand new students who wish to deepen their own practice or begin teaching and sharing the essential practice of Yin Yoga with others.
Grounded in the Five Element Theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine, each day will be dedicated to a deep exploration of the Elements.

"The main thing is being able to integrate the meridians and elements into yoga classes. I'm really excited about this! You also gave us effective and fun ways to increase our awareness about cueing language (haikus, ways to work with our own practice, etc.) and the importance of articulation. I also have a whole new understanding from an experiential standpoint of pratyahara. Wow! Thank you! "- Practitioner of Yin & Restorative YTT Sedona 2018
